Absolute Best 2008

Vote for the Nightingale Theater and Midwestern Theater Troupe in the Urban Tulsa Absolute Best of Tulsa! VOTE HERE

Don't be intimidated by the forms/survey... we'll break it down for you. There are instructions, contact info, and appreciation pages before you get to the voting. Nothing to that. Then you'll see the following pages:

 • Hot Shots
 • Provisions and Purveyors
 • Ankle Biters, Ma and Pa (Kids)
 • Tunes, Arts, and Culture
 • Heart and Soul
 • Hangouts and Booze
 • Eats
 • Feedback and Thanks (you're done)

Pretty simple, huh? So all you need to do is type or paste NIGHTINGALE THEATER into as many blanks that you think are appropriate. On the Tunes, Arts, and Culture page, you can vote for the MIDWESTERN THEATER TROUPE as best Live Theatre Group.

Some other folks you might consider are Ihloff Salon and Day Spa, Dwelling Spaces and Mary Beth Babcock, DJ Robbo, the band Recorder, Under the Mooch, Cheap Thrills Vintage, Silver Screen Vintage, Circle Cinema, Dfest, Blue Dome Arts Festival...

top q's, with a's

  1. Where is the theater?
The Nightingale is located at 1416 East Fourth Street, just East of Peoria on Fourth Street.
  2. Do you accept credit cards or have online ticketing?
Nope, we're not that fancy. Cash, check, barters, pocket lint... Admission is collected at the door, and house typically opens thirty minutes prior to a performance.
  3. Who are you? How long have you been here?
We're simply a band of merry artists who happen to own a building and love theatre. We've been performing as an organized 501(c)3 troupe since 1995 and opened the Nightingale in 2000. If you're interested in the long answer, click the "About Us" link above.

Buy Nightingale, now at Printfection

We're selling the shirts off our backs, and away from CafePress. Nothing against CafePress, mind you. We've simply found an outlet that will save you a buck or two, offer more styles and options, and still provide professional Nightingalewear. As with our old CafePress store, the Nightingale makes no profit on any sale; we just want to see ourselves all over your body. Visit our new Printfection store and brand yourself with the Bird.

You (still) like us

Thanks to Mister and Missus Everytulsan for voting us Absolute Best 2007, proving once again that you don't need Daddy Warbucks' funding nor Top 40's theater to succeed.

According to the Urban Tulsa Weekly:

"This theater and company of actors host and perform the edgiest theatre in Tulsa. You won’t see anything like it anywhere else in town, promise."

New Telephone Number: 918-633-8666

In order to serve you better, the Nightingale Theater has changed her telephone number. Beginning immediately. The new number is 918-633-8666. Please update your records, address book, cellular telephone, speed-dial, PDA, and brain to reflect this change. Remember that we are still an all volunteer non-funded non profit theater. We will not have someone waiting to take your call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However, the new telephone number may result in more timely responses to your message and will, in fact, save the theater much needed cash. Call today and make a reservation for Humans...

Hot, again. 2007.

The Nightingale has again made it to the Urban Tulsa Hot 100 list... "Preferring art over money, these groups are consistently producing edgy, ground-breaking material -- when they can afford to keep the electricity on." The electricity is still on, and we're entering our eighth year; come out and show some love.

Help The Theater

In the seven-plus years we've been showcasing the Best of Tulsa, our charitable community has donated approximately 0.001% of our operating expenses. It's reassuring to know there are at least three foundations in the entire universe with the gumption to support alternative arts in Tulsa. Don't misunderstand, we are thankful for every donation we receive; however, you, the theater-loving public, are the ones who fund the remaining 99.999%. Help keep independent theater alive in Tulsa - visit the Nightingale or donate today!
